We Helped Air New Zealand's Economy Bunk Beds Go Viral

The world's first sleep pods in the sky truly “took off," landing Air New Zealand coverage in GMA, CBS This Morning, and the monologue of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Overview

As Air New Zealand prepared to re-enter the U.S. when international borders reopened, Praytell was tasked with highlighting the airline’s new, premium cabin upgrades, including one that stopped people in their tracks: the Skynest.

Our Solution

Praytell developed an earned media strategy that transcended verticals, engaging press across travel, lifestyle, tech, design and business outlets. We also coordinated a FAM trip in less than 2 weeks, hosting Fodor’s Travel and Business Insider for a first look at the Skynest at Air New Zealand’s Innovation Lab in Auckland, New Zealand.

Results

The news spread like wildfire, quickly generating hundreds of stories across broadcast, online, and social. The Skynest wowed broadcast hosts at CBS and GMA, and even inspired a joke in Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show monologue. In a new cycle dominated by travel disruptions and shrinking economy sections, we shocked and delighted media with a unique solution.
